Description:
Ready to apply your riding skills in a bike park setting at Snoqualmie Bike Park? Our team of Evergreen-Certified Instructors are stoked and ready to help you with that formal introduction. These sessions will be a mix of guided riding and maybe a few tips here and there to help you build that bike park confidence.
This is a casual paced, no drop, group ride, centered around all things BIKE PARK! We will answer all of your questions like how to load bikes onto the lift to bike park etiquette. Take advantage of some lift-assisted laps while honing in on core foundations in a relaxed environment with new friends!
*This is not a coaching series. We may give tips based on safety but this is not a coaching format. Please contact Heather at for information on private lessons.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites and ability level will be unique to each session. Please read the descriptions carefully and be honest about your ability level and endurance. If you are unsure if this may be suitable, reach out for guidance - we want to make sure every lap is as FUN and relaxed as possible so everyone can progress!
What makes ‘bike park’ riding so different? Terrain tends to be steeper, more technical, and is set up for higher speeds. Trail and weather conditions can change quickly. Because you are taking a lift up to the top, this means from the top down will be a consistent descent. You may only be riding downhill but don't take that to mean "easy" - your hands, forearms and upper body are in for a workout!
Session #1: August 17th at 10am
Green Party + Options to Progress
Beginner - Intermediate. Each lap is ~2.5mi
Prerequisites: Beginner level MTB clinic and/or comfortable with green and (some) blue descending trails. Examples include Flow State at Raging River or Deuces Wild or Jabulani at Duthie. No need to have ridden a lift-accessed park before.
Let’s warm-up for the day with a fun mountain loop! Green Party is the easiest green trail and should be ridden before attempting any other trail in the park. We’ll focus on proper braking drills and balanced body positioning while we descend this terrain. Green party is a green trail but it is technical and challenging with lots of bermed and flat corners! You will have a choice to stay here on Green Party for all day party laps with friends working to build confidence or you can move ahead to discover some of the blue descending trails if you're feeling ready.
Session #2: Sept 14th at 10am
Bouncy House + Tech! with Options to Progress
Intermediate: Each lap is ~2mi
Prerequisites: MTB Foundations 2 and/or comfortable on intermediate descending trails such as Lower Poppin Tops at Raging River, Side Hustle at Tiger Mountain, Voodoo Child and Ryan's Line at Duthie, or Green Party at Snoqualmie Pass.
Bouncy House is Snoqualmie's flowier, faster, older sibling to Green Party. It's a blue (intermediate) descent trail with bigger berms and a steeper gradient. This is a great trail to progress onto after feeling confident on Green Party and is a great place to build confidence as the speed increases and the berms get bigger. After a proper warm up we will be focusing on the TECH of Snoqualmie. Spending time sessioning Wapiti, Lower Silver and Upper My Little Friend. We will have options to split into two groups based on comfort level.
