Whether you're new to riding or have been riding for a while, learning proper technique and gaining a solid foundation in the basics will result in immediate improvements to your riding and will assist you in progressing to more advanced skills and terrain in the future.
Foundations Level 1 is designed to help you develop strong foundational skills in body positioning and the basics of mountain biking. This class is the place to start building your confidence on 2 wheels.
CLASS FOCUS:
- Confidently ride green level trails
- Navigate varied terrain such as roots, rocks and corners
- Maintain control while breaking, descending, and climbing
This ride is open to anyone in Middle or High School who is comfortable riding a bike on paved terrain. No mountain bike experience is necessary!
Location: The ride will take place at Black Diamond Open Space near Maple Valley, WA
What to Bring:
- Water
- Comfortable athletic clothing (such as running or basketball shorts and a moisture-wicking shirt)
- Close-toed shoes
- Rain jacket
- Warm layer
- Halloween costumes are encouraged!
