1- Day Downhill Clinic - Stevens Pass

Evergreen will be offering a 1-day DH Clinic at Stevens Pass Bike Park for the more advanced rider who is already comfortable with DH riding and seeking to fine-tune their skills. Don't miss the opportunity to be coached by our experienced Evergreen instructors! Only 5 spaces are available for this 1-day class. Minimum Age: 18

To participate riders must meet the following qualifications listed below. Please email Dan Bassett () if you have questions.

  • Riding: Minimum 2yrs of advanced technical riding  
  • Local Trails: Tiger - OTG, Predator (able to get down but can’t ride all obstacles); Tokul Crazy Ivan, Flow Tron; Duthie 2 hi, Voodoo Child, Gravy Train.
  • Whistler: B-Line, Crank It Up, Heart of Darkness, Ho Chi Min
  • Skills: Technical trails without getting off the bike, can do small drops (1-2’) easily, comfortable lifting your front wheel over obstacles.

Intro to Downhill - Including a Day at Stevens Pass

Intro to downhill is a 4-part series covering the skills needed to become a strong downhill rider. Participants progress through increasingly challenging terrain with confidence. This class is designed for the solid intermediate to advanced rider who is newer to the downhill scene.

This class will focus on:

  • Review balance, body position, braking, descending, and proper drop techniques
  • Review high-speed cornering
  • Passive and active obstacle clearing
  • Doing large drops and jumps (Big air time!)
  • Practice skills based on analysis from classes 1-3 at Stevens Pass

To participate riders must meet the following qualifications listed below. Please email Dan Bassett if you have questions.

  • Riding: Minimum 2yrs of advanced technical riding

Progression Sessions - Kittitas

Adult

A Co-ed ride series for riders seeking to improve their skills and become stronger, more confident trail riders. Each class (4 in total) focuses on 2-3 skills - in depth - while out on the trails. Riders will receive feedback and guidance from our experienced instructors in a relaxed and fun setting while getting plenty of trail time. The first 2 classes will focus on beginner skills and progress to intermediate skills in the final 2 classes. Minimum Age: 14

This class will focus on:

  • Balance, body position, braking, descending
  • Climbing, slow speed cornering, shifting
  • Trail skills including roll downs and berms
  • High-speed cornering
  • Obstacle clearing

MTB Foundations - Jr - Eastern Washington

Youth
$80 (non-members), $60 (members)

Evergreen’s MTB Techniques for Kids provides youth the chance to join the fun on mountain bikes! Kids will learn the basics of safely riding their mountain bikes, while learning the technical skills to help them progress out on the trails. Learn how to climb and safely go down hills while rolling over small logs and roots, and riding through twisty trails. This class will help kids with balance while learning the basic rules of mountain biking to keep them safe.

8-12 Your child must have has their 8th birthday.

Limit 10 kids

Your child must have a “real” mountain bike. Box store mountain bikes are not acceptable for safety reasons.

This class will focus on:

  • Body Position and Balance

  • Braking

  • Climbing and Descending Techniques

  • Gearing and Shifting

  • Front Wheel Lift

MTB Foundations Level 1 - Women - Kittitas

Women's Only

This one is for the ladies! Are you new to mountain biking? Or do you need to brush the dust off those skills? MTB Foundations is the place to start building your confidence on 2 wheels in a fun, supportive all-female environment.  

This class will focus on:

  • Learning body position and balance

  • Proper braking

  • Climbing and descending techniques

  • Gearing and shifting

  • Approaching obstacles/front wheel lift

MTB Foundations Level 1 - Kittitas

Intro to Freeride - Kittitas

Want to start pushing the limits of what you can ride? Want to go big on the jumps and carve berms with ease? This 2 part co-ed class covers the basics of freeride mountain biking. This class will cover the first step to being a more confident rider when it comes to cornering, speed, and air! Minimum Age: 14

 This class will focus on:

  • Review balance, body position, braking, descending, and proper drop techniques

  • Obstacle clearing/wheel lift

  • High-speed cornering

  • Progressing to bigger drops and jumps (Air time!)

MTB Foundations Level 2 - Kittitas

Evergreen’s MTB Foundations level 2 caters to the intermediate rider looking to increase confidence on more technical trails. While Foundations Level 1 is a highly recommended prerequisite, experienced students are always welcome to join. Minimum Age: 14

This class will focus on:

  • Review of body position, balance,  braking and descending
  • Cornering
  • Obstacle Clearance
  • Trail skills including roll downs and berms
  • Approaching jumps and drops

MTB Foundations Level 1 - Women - Eastern Washington

Women's Only
$80 (non-members), $60 (members)

In the MTB Foundations Level 1 - Women, we teach you everything you need to have fun and be a confident trail rider in a supportive all-female environment. New and experienced riders can all benefit from a focus on learning fundamental mountain bike handling and techniques. We focus on proper balance and body position and add a host of vital skills including braking, climbing, descending, and tight turns. All skills will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced with our instructors, then taken to the trail. For Ages 18 and up

It is highly recommended that MTB Foundations Level 1 and MTB Foundations Level 2 are taken together.

MTB Foundations Level 1 - Eastern Washington
