Progression Sessions - Jr

Description:

A ride series for younger riders who have some experience but want to improve their skills to become stronger, more confident trail riders. Each class (4 in total) focuses on 2-3 skills - in depth - while out on the trails. Riders will receive feedback and guidance from our experienced instructors in a relaxed and fun setting while getting more trail time and making new friends. Ages 8-13

This class will focus on:

  • Review balance, body position, braking, descending
  • Climbing, slow speed cornering, shifting
  • Trail skills including roll downs and berms
  • High-speed cornering
  • Obstacle clearing

Classes are held at Duthie Hill Park, Black Diamond Open Space, Swan Creek, and Big Finn Hill

MTB Dirt Camp for Kids at Duthie Bike Park

Spend 5 action-packed days of fun in the woods on your mountain bike! Dominate jumps, rip through dirt, and hammer over roots and rocks just like the pros! Technical trickery, jumps, and drops are just some of the skills we work on in these camps. Each day starts off with skill builders and ends with trail rides. We will also cover Some bike and maintenance skills and of course, plenty of bike games! Be sure to come prepared for lots of fun! Groups will be split by age and ability. Here is an overview of what will be learned throughout the week:  Participants must be 8-13 years old because of the added fitness level and duration of the camps.

MTB Advanced Dirt Camp for Kids at Duthie Bike Park

Description:

This camp is for young, experienced riders who are looking for a bigger challenge. Using the expertise of our great coaching staff, campers will work on technical riding, jumping, bigger drops, and endurance. Coaches will work to improve riders skills so they can tackle bigger terrain faster and with more proficiency. Campers who wish to participate should be able to ride drops of 2ft or more, clear table tops of 6+ feet and be able to ride 10+ miles in a day. MTB Dirt Camp for Kids at BDOS

Come spend a week of action packed fun on two wheels! Evergreen MTB is excited to partner with King County Parks to offer our Youth Dirt Camps at Black Diamond Open Space (BDOS)! This is the first year we will be offering Dirt Camps at BDOS Similar to our very popular camps at Duthie Bike Park, participants will learn all the technical skills to dominate jumps, rip through dirt, and hammer around roots and rocks!  Each day starts off with skill builders and ends with trail rides. We’ll do a hands-on fix-a-flat class and play bike games. Half a day will be spent learning about stewardship and trail maintenance techniques. Be sure to come prepared for lots of fun! Groups will be split by age and ability. Balance games, jumps, and drops are just some of the skills we work on in this camp. Evergreen’s MTB Foundations Level 2 class builds on the skills participants learn in the Level 1 class. It also provides riders with some experience out on the trails or those who could use review of proper techniques and mountain bike handling an excellent opportunity to take their riding ability to the next level. Learn to navigate tight turns, corner with confidence, and learn wheel lifts that will help you conquer obstacles like roots, logs and just about anything else that you may come across along the trails. Do you want to conquer Predator? Come join the Evergreen Instructors as they break down the skills necessary to conquer Tiger Mt's most infamous trail. We will focus on rocks, roots, steep terrain and how to negotiate them safely while sessioning the lower half of Predator. This class will be an excellent follow-up to our Intro to Freeride class. Ages: 18+

NOTE: A Full-Face MTB helmet will be required for this class!
