Adult Co-Ed Classes

We offer a full range of co-ed Adult classes for beginner to advanced mountain bikers. Unless otherwise noted, the minimum age for adult classes is 18 years old. You can also check out our 1-day Downhill Clinic at Stevens Pass Bike Park on our Clinics page.

MTB Foundations Level 1

Description:

Whether you're new to riding or have been riding for a while, learning proper technique and gaining a solid foundation in the basics will result in immediate improvements to your riding and will assist you in progressing to more advanced skills and terrain in the future. 

Foundations Level 1 is designed to help you develop strong foundational skills in body positioning and the basics of mountain biking. This class is the place to start building your confidence on 2 wheels.

Class Focus:

  • Learning body position and balance
  • Proper braking
  • Climbing and descending techniques
  • Gearing and shifting
  • Approaching obstacles/front wheel lift

MTB Foundations Level 2

Description:

This course starts with the basics of correct body positioning and applies these skills to increase your confidence, safety, and efficiency in climbing, descending, braking, and approaching obstacles on the trail.

Apply what you’ve learned in Foundations 1 and increase your confidence in more difficult terrain. This class will review the basics, improve your body position, and introduce you to cornering techniques.

Class Focus:

  • Review of body position, balance, braking and descending
  • Cornering
  • Advanced Obstacle Clearance
  • Trail skills including roll downs and berms

Progression Sessions

Description:

Learned the basics and ready to take your skills out on the trail? Progression Sessions are a ride series for those seeking to improve their skills and become stronger, more confident riders. Each class (4 in total) focuses on 2-3 skills in depth while out on the trails. Riders will receive feedback and guidance from our experienced instructors in a relaxed and fun setting while getting plenty of trail time.

Class Focus:

  • Review balance, body position, braking, descending
  • Climbing, slow speed cornering, shifting
  • Trail skills including roll downs and berms
  • High-speed cornering
  • Obstacle clearing

Intro to Freeride

Description:

Want to start pushing the limits of what you can ride? Interested in stretching your jumping ability and carving berms with ease? This class covers the basics of freeride mountain biking. If you want to build confidence in cornering, speed, and air, this class is for you!

Class Focus:

  • Body Positioning & Balance

  • Technical Descending

  • Wheel Lifts

  • Drops

  • Jumps

  • High speed cornering

Adult Advanced MTB Clinic - Central WA

Description:

New this year!  Evergreen will be partnering with March Northwest from Bellingham, WA to bring you this 2-day, 3 hours per day advanced riding class. The class will be geared toward the intermediate/advanced rider to help them take their riding to the next level.  This class will take place from 9am-noon each day at Squilchuck State Park.

This class is a 2-part series.

Minimum Age: 16

Class Focus:

  • Basic wheel lift including skills to go up and over a feature into a basic roll down 
  • Cornering and techniques to maintain balance during cornering
  • Advanced climbing including standing, crouch and seated and uphill lunge techniques including ¼ punch
  • Advanced wheel lifts, nose wheel turn and manuals
  • Roll downs, lunge and the 2 major techniques for mastering Drops from varying speeds
