DESCRIPTION:Click the following link for the latest event details: https://www.evergree
nmtb.org/calendar/eventdetail/25224/gold-hill-chewelah-saturday-trail-work-
party-9am-start\n\nCome see why Gold Hill near Chewelah is becoming Eastern
Washington's newest mountain biking destination and help get our trails in
to peak riding shape for spring and summer! \n
We'll be honing two new flow
trails (we had an excavator on site in April) as well as generally getting
the existing trails in shape for the upcoming riding season.\n
Background
on Gold Hill Community Forest - Gold Hill is a 400 acre community forest re
cently acquired by the Chewelah Valley Land Trust (https://chewelahvalleyla
ndtrust.com/about/) (CVLT) located just north of Chewelah (the north side o
f the Golf & Country Club) in Stevens County. Trails have been in devel
opment for about five years and have reached critical mass--which means you
can ride for miles and rack up a bunch of climing and descending without r
iding the same trails twice. Work parties this year will include everything
from brushing, digging, raking to finishing a couple brand new trails.\n
C
VLT & Evergreen will have some tools on-site to get this job done—but i
f you have a favorite trail-building tool (e.g. shovel, rake, Rogue hoe, Mc
Cleod, loppers, or similar), please bring those along. Gloves, sturdy shoes
/boots and safety/sun glasses strongly recommended.\n
